From Bill Lindsey of the the US Bureau of Land Management, the Historic Bottle Glass Identification and Information Website located on the Society for Historical Archaeology's website is a fabulous resource, with lots of photographs and discussion for dating historic glass bottles.

I have a milk bottle – on the front it has (since 1852) in a somewhat round circle. at the bottom it is notched, has a (1) and (OK) on it. I cannot make out the rest of the items on the bottom. Is it worth anything?
I don’t really know–but if I were you, I’d look for an antique shop in your city (or two or more) and see what they might be interested in paying for it.

I have 2 of the same type jars. I have never really looked into finding out anything about them. Have you found anything about them yet?
I just realized that the link to the bottle identification website was broken (sorry about that!), and have now edited this old blog post to point to the right direction. I suggest you go wander around on Bill Lindsey’s page and see if you can find what you’re looking for.
