Francisco Pizarro [1471-1541]

Definition: Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro captured the Inca emperor Atahuallpa in 1532, and managed the defeat of the entire Inca empire by 1537. In 1541 he was assassinated. In the early 1977, workers found human remains buried beneath an altar in the cathedral at Lima, Peru, subsequently identified as those of Don Francisco Pizarro.
